We’re thrilled to announce that 30 Red Oaks were planted on the southern edge of The Park this week. These trees form a section of the southern allée known as Jane’s Lane. This brings our grand total to 65 trees on the deck.

The beautiful Red Oaks join Chinese Pistache in the Reading and Games Courtyard and River Birches in the Children’s Garden. The Children’s Garden is coming to life with the addition of the Rotary Learning Tree—a Bur Oak that is the largest tree in The Park.

It’s no secret – we love our cars in Dallas. And while driving is an easy way to get from Point A to Point B, we hope The Park will encourage people to leave their cars behind, take a walk, and explore the neighborhood. We’re happy to note that the current walk score for the area around The Park is an 88 (“very walkable,” according to www.walkscore.com), and it can only get better from here!

Walkable neighborhoods offer a number of benefits for residents and visitors, including a cleaner and safer environment, a healthier lifestyle, and a positive economic impact. By connecting the vibrant neighborhoods of Uptown and Downtown, The Park will provide our community with one more reason to get outside and enjoy this beautiful city.

There are numerous ways for companies to be a part of The Park’s inaugural year. Corporate sponsorship of The Park provides your company, clients, employees and executives with unique and exciting benefits including access to special events and high-profile recognition during this historic year.

Let us show you how your company can benefit. For more information, contact Angie Calderwood at 214-716-4503.

The first 25 of The Park’s 322 trees have arrived! Contractors began planting River Birch, generously endowed by the TurningPoint Foundation, in the Children’s Park in early December. They’ll soon be joined by groves of Chinese Pistache in the Botanical Garden and Reading and Games Courtyard. We’ll ring in the New Year with a large specimen Bur Oak—the Children’s Park Storytelling Tree—and Pond Cypress and Red Oak along the Chase Promenade. Check out more tree planting photos!
